It's a challenge for the Australian squad to achieve unprecedented feats.

The greatest achievements have long been mastered.

This is the team that has won seven Cricket World Cups, along with six more T20 titles, and earlier maintained 1,294 days unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, the ones sought by the record chasers, are all that remain for a squad that has accomplished all there is.

It needed until Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase above 300, regaining their record for the largest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, frankly, a compliment to the bowling attack that have sported the yellow jersey over the last half-century.

It's challenging for their batters to possess a record if never given the possibility.

Ultimately, the result of Australia giving up 330 runs was skipper Alyssa Healy being given a chance to create her latest masterpiece.

Originally famous as the young family member of famous ex Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she debuted in 2010 after her nation couldn't capture either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups from the prior year and has experienced everything through 15 trophy-laden years since.

A T20 championship victory happened three months after her bow and seven international trophies have come from 10 attempts across formats.

The determined wicketkeeper was in attendance in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final defeat by India briefly halted the winning streak.

That loss "pushed us to reconsider our benchmarks," Healy commented earlier.

At the subsequent ODI World Cup in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the title decider and was declared player of the series. She ensured her country would not fail again.

If this recent magnificent innings surpassed that earlier display can be debated.

Many contend the case for the pressure of a final. Others can counter with the test that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What is certain is this hundred was much more difficult to anticipate.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 happened while she was the highest scorer, but this performance was preceded by six games in India over the past few weeks in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"For those following me in practice sessions, it has been a disappointing period because I feel like I lacked timing at all," stated Healy.

"However when you step out on the field, your competitive nature kick in and you completely engage with the competition."

Healy's competitive nature has always been her major advantage - and an irreplaceable characteristic in succeeding legendary former captain Meg Lanning.

She was challenged by India's promising player Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, out to the 22-year-old seamer in every game, but here that only provided Healy's motivation.

A single came off Gaud's first delivery and from there the batsman was in motion.

"An opportunity to go out there and lock in a contest with her and just have a bit of fun that way, kind of motivated me," commented Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 pitches - her fastest at the global tournament - and her century in 84 deliveries while she attacked short-pitched balls, striking 21 boundaries and three big hits.

When she was removed the team needed 66 additional runs at a run-a-ball - an unconquered height now needing a comfortable finish.

"Chasing 330 runs is unfamiliar ground so I am glad we have the confidence to achieve that now," stated Healy further.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to do it again but, should it happen, we know we can succeed."

That comment will be the last competing nations at this championship should hear.

Over the past five days a sense they will succeed regardless of circumstances has only strengthened - this triumph succeeding success over Pakistan by 107-run victory despite sitting at 76-7 at one point.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before an encounter with old rivals England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final place may likely be confirmed.

During that phase they were eliminated from last year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - a game Healy couldn't play because of ruptured tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the first time at an important competition.

So strong is her resolve, she later said she wanted to have participated with the discomfort.

Yet even as she later admitted those fitness problems have delayed plans to retire, this championship is expected to be her final tournament as skipper in ODI cricket and she is still to achieve a world championship as skipper.

Success in India would take her to the summit of her final mountain.
